Introduction to Middle Eastern Dance, its cultural origins and customs. A good broad foundation to build from.... Learn correct technique for basic steps, including feet, arm and hand positions. Do's and don'ts of belly dancing.

Continuing study of Middle Eastern dance, stressing understanding of basic Middle Eastern rhythms, and basic use of the zills (finger cymbals). Learn stage presentation, makeup and costuming, as well as basic choreography concepts. Begin performing as a troupe.
Discover personal style, as you explore more in depth Middle Eastern rhythms. Increase your knowledge of stage awareness and presentation. Learn simple floorwork, while continuing concentration on the zills, and gaining a full understanding of veil work. Preparation for solo dancing.
